White Daisy Tidytips | Layia Glandulosa
Layia glandulosa, commonly known as White Tidytips or White Layia, is a delicate annual wildflower native to California and parts of the western United States. Found in sandy or rocky soils across open plains, deserts, and scrublands, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it an excellent candidate for low-water, native, or pollinator-friendly gardens.
This petite daisy-like flower reaches up to a foot tall and is prized for its crisp white petals tipped with subtle yellow at the base, forming a clean, radiant halo around a golden center. The foliage is aromatic and glandular, with slender stems that may branch in favorable conditions. Blooming primarily in spring, Layia glandulosa is a welcome sight in wildflower meadows, restoration projects, or native garden borders, where it adds a refined charm and supports bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.
Best sown in fall or early spring with other native annuals. Grows quickly and blooms profusely with minimal care.
