Tracy's Clarkia | Clarkia gracillis ssp. tracyi seeds
Clarkia gracilis ssp. tracyi is a delicate annual wildflower in the evening primrose family, known commonly as Tracy’s Clarkia. Endemic to California, it is found in foothill woodlands and openings, often thriving in well-drained soils, however can adapt to any soils. This rare subspecies offers an elegant display of slender stems topped with nodding buds that open into vibrant, cup-shaped blossoms.
The flowers typically have four petals, each with a soft pink to lavender hue and often marked with darker pink or purple highlights near the base. Blooming in late spring, Tracy’s Clarkia brings subtle color and charm to native gardens, meadow plantings, and restoration projects. Its upright growth habit and fine texture allow it to blend beautifully with grasses and other wildflowers.
