$5.00

Campanula rotundifolia is a delicate perennial wildflower known by the common names Harebell, Bluebell of Scotland, and Roundleaf Bellflower. Native across much of the Northern Hemisphere, it is found in meadows, open woods, rocky slopes, and coastal bluffs, including parts of California’s northern ranges. Adaptable and resilient, it thrives in well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade. Its nodding, bell-shaped flowers appear airy and graceful, giving the plant a light, charming presence in gardens and natural landscapes.
This slender perennial grows from creeping rhizomes and typically reaches 6 to 18 inches tall. The basal leaves are rounded and small, while the stem leaves are narrow and linear. From late spring through summer, the plant produces clusters of delicate, pendulous, blue-violet bells about 1–2 centimeters long. Flowers are attractive to pollinators, especially native bees and butterflies. The seed capsules contain numerous fine seeds that disperse easily, allowing the plant to naturalize in the right setting.
