Mountain Garland White Clarkia | Clarkia unguiculata

$5.00

Clarkia unguiculata is a species of clarkia known by the common names elegant clarkia, mountain garland, and white garland clarkia. Native to California, it’s commonly found throughout the Sierra foothills, coastal ranges, and open woodlands. Well adapted to dry summer conditions, it thrives in disturbed areas, grassy slopes, and woodland edges. This versatile annual prefers well-draining soils in full sun to part shade, and grows easily in garden beds, borders, and wildflower meadows. Sow in a group for a full, dreamy floral effect.
‘Mountain Garland White’ features tall, slender stems topped with long, vertical spires of densely packed, double white flowers. Each bloom measures about 2 to 3 centimeters wide and resembles a delicate, ruffled rosette. The graceful, airy appearance makes this clarkia a garden showstopper, whether grown on its own or mixed with other native wildflowers. A favorite among pollinators, the flowers attract native bees, butterflies, and occasional hummingbirds, supporting local ecosystems in style.
Equally beloved in floral design, Mountain Garland makes an excellent cut flower—long-lasting in the vase and lovely in both fresh and dried arrangements. Harvest stems when half the blooms are open for best results.
