California Poppy "Red Chief" | Eschscholzia californica Seeds

Eschscholzia californica, California Poppy 'Red Chief'. The ultimate self-seed ground cover annual that will grow almost anywhere producing a profusion of color on 6 to 10 inches stems with silky 2-3 inch wide cups in a stunning carmine red, above mounds of attractive feathery grey-green foliage. Sprinkle seeds in the garden in early spring or late fall and lightly tap on the soil. When seedlings are 2-3" tall, thin to approximately 1 plat per square foot. Does not need supplemental water once mature AND thrives on neglect. Cut spent flowers to promote continuous bloom. Will reliably reseed year after year.
