$5.00

Salvia brandegeei ‘Pacific Blue’ is a naturally occurring selection of Brandegee’s sage, prized for its rich blue-violet flowers and handsome evergreen foliage. Native to coastal Southern California, this compact, woody perennial is well adapted to dry summers, coastal influence, and mild winters. It is a classic component of coastal sage scrub and an excellent choice for water-wise native landscapes.
‘Pacific Blue’ forms a dense, rounded shrub with aromatic gray-green leaves that release a pleasant herbal scent when brushed. In late winter through spring, upright flower spikes emerge, covered in vivid blue blossoms that are highly attractive to native bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. Plants perform best in full sun to light shade with excellent drainage and minimal summer water once established.
Sow seeds in fall to early winter to take advantage of cool temperatures and natural rainfall. Seeds benefit from cool, moist conditions and typically germinate over several weeks. Ideal for slopes, coastal gardens, native hedges, and mixed perennial plantings.
