$5.00

Nemophila pedunculata is a delicate and charming California native wildflower commonly known as Meadow Nemophila or Littlefoot Blue-eyes. Native to California, it is found primarily in grasslands, open woodlands, and coastal hills, often blooming in spring after seasonal rains. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soils, including sandy or loamy types. This species performs beautifully in naturalistic plantings, wildflower meadows, and as part of pollinator-friendly landscapes. Sow in drifts or masses for a soft, airy display.

This low-growing annual typically reaches 3–10 inches in height and spreads gently along the ground, up to 12 inches. The foliage is finely divided and bright green, forming a light, lacy mat. The cup-shaped flowers are white to blue to purple, often with lighter centers, and are held on slender peduncles above the foliage, giving the plant its name. The flowers are abundant and small, about 1 cm (~0.4 inch) across. Blooming creates a delicate carpet effect.
